A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME…

I have been fascinated by Western culture since I was a child and quickly decided that I would like to become a designer, which led me to continue my studies outside of my home country. My time at the London College of Communication helped me improve my creative skills enormously, which has been reflected in the high standard of work I have produced for my various employers. It also helped me develop my English-language skills. Naturally, my heritage is still a strong source of inspiration for me, too – my father was a calligraphy teacher and I have a strong sense of aesthetics from Japanese culture – so I draw on this and my experiences since living in the UK to create consistently strong and visually arresting design.

I am hard working, with excellent typographic skills and extensive experience as a designer, having worked at Jonathan Barnbrook’s studio and CHK design, as well as in the publishing and financial sector. I have been a senior designer at Penguin Random Group for more than four years, designing jackets and working on concepts for both children’s and adult reference books. Since 2013, I have worked as an in-house creative designer for Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT Group).
